In 2005, the Committee of the FCI (Fédération Cynologique Internationale) did allow the creation of an International Show reserved to the Sighthounds with the following official titles :

This event is intended to emphasize our Sighthounds internationally by gathering them in a high level annual Show, organized in a different European country each time.

In 2005, the titles FCI Euro Sighthound were given for the first time in Germany (Donaueschingen).

For 2007, the Club Royal Belge du Lévrier was granted the honour of the organization.
